Rodney Staff Position Descriptions
If your paperwork is not received by the due date, we may assume you have changed your mind and may seek someone else for your position with or without contacting you first.
____ Staff, Volunteer or Counselor-in-Training Agreement – (All Camp Staff) The original copy of your signed staff or counselor-in-training agreement. Due within 2 weeks of receipt.
Required of ALL Camp Staff (Due May 15th) Electronic Documentation is Highly Preferred. Please email to the Camp Director at rsr@dmvc.org by the due date. They can be mailed to 400 Rodney Scout Road, North East, MD 21901 if electronic documentation is not possible.
____ Current BSA Registration Card - (If you are currently registered in a unit) Scan and send your current BSA registration card. This can be printed from your profile in my.scouting.org. While there, you can also complete the necessary training (YPT & Weather Hazards) listed below.
____ Staff Uniform Order – The camp staff uniform and BSA Field Uniform must be worn as described in the Staff Manual. All staff members receive a $30 credit towards their uniform order. See the staff uniform order info to place your order through our online store at www.dmvc.org/rodney/tp. Orders must be submitted by May 15th to have at staff check-in.
____ Del-Mar-Va Council Camp Staff BSA Registration – (All Camp Staff) A current membership registration in the position of “Camp Staff” within Del-Mar-Va Council BSA is required to be on Del-Mar-Va camp staff. All staff must complete a membership application (Youth Membership if under 18 years old, Adult Membership if 18 or older) to register in the role of “Camp Staff”. If you are not currently registered in a separate Del-Mar-Va Council unit the membership fee is $37 for all new or returning members. Make checks out to Del-Mar-Va Council. If you are currently registered in a Del-Mar-Va Council unit you do not need to pay again; please provide a copy of your membership card with your application. Members of Crew 299 will still need to pay the $37 as the Crew is collecting dues in that amount this year. ____ Proof of NEW Youth Protection Training Completion (must be taken since 2/1/2018) – (All Camp Staff) Youth Protection Training can be completed online through www.My.Scouting.org. Create a profile, associate your BSA member ID if you are currently registered. The course that can be found by clicking the "Menu" button on the top left of the page, then choosing "My Dashboard", then choose "YPT”. The course takes approximately 1 hour to complete. Print a completion certificate and provide it to the camp.
____ Proof of Hazardous Weather Training Completion (Must be current through August 13th, 2019) - (All Camp Staff)
- Weather Hazards Training can also be completed online through www.My.Scouting.org. The courses that can be found by clicking the "Menu" button on the top left of the page, then choosing "My Dashboard", then choose "Training Center", then choose "Expanded Learning" and lastly at the top of the page find "Program Safety”. Click “Take Course”, click “Add Plan” then click on the course. Hazardous Weather will appear, click “Launch Course”. Print a completion certificate and provide it to the camp.
____ Proof of Seasonal Staff Harassment Prevention Training Completion (must be taken annually) – (All Camp Staff)
- Camp Staff are required to complete the online Seasonal Staff Harassment Prevention Training prior to arrival at camp. Use the link below to log into the BSA Skillsoft Academy to access the training:

____ Permission to Leave Camp – Form is required for all Camp Staff and Counselors-in-Training under age 18.
____ Any Certifications (First Aid, CPR, Leave No Trace, Lifeguard certs., National Camping School etc.) – Send any current certification cards, given by the BSA or any other organization. Remember that Lifeguard certs are only valid if you have a current CPR certification as required when you took the course!

____ Form W-4 – If you want to get paid your salary, you must fill out and sign this form. If you were employed by Del-Mar-Va Council last year and do not wish any changes to your tax withholdings this form is not needed. (This fillable .pdf form requires Adobe Acrobat 7.0 available free here)
____ Maryland Form MW507 – As a seasonal employee, if your annual income falls below the minimum filing requirements you can claim exemption from withholding of state taxes. This is NOT a required form but is an available option. (This fillable .pdf form requires Adobe Acrobat 7.0 available free here)
____ Direct Deposit Form – Del-Mar-Va Council provides salary payment through direct deposit and ONLY through direct deposit.
____ Employment Eligibility Verification Form (ALL STAFF) (Federal I-9) This form is required by the federal government to insure your eligibility for employment in the United States. (This fillable .pdf form requires Adobe Acrobat 7.0 available free here)
____ Identifications (ALL STAFF) – Bring your required forms of identification as needed by the I-9 Form.
____ CPS Background Clearance Form– The state of Maryland requires CPS Background Clearances of all camp staff. Each camp employee needs to create their own myDHR login and complete the CPS Clearance Form. Please scan and send a copy of the notarized document.
MUST BE BROUGHT TO STAFF CHECK-IN WITH YOU
These items will be collected at check-in when you arrive at camp.
____ BSA Medical Form – Keep your original and bring a copy. Your medical form will not be returned to you.
The BSA’s Annual Health & Medical Record is now required for all staff and campers of all ages. This form will be the only form accepted. The older BSA Class III forms, BSA High Adventure forms and school physicals will not be accepted. Camp staff of all ages must now have an annual physical and have the appropriate medical personnel complete the form.
____ Personal Items – You will need these for your staff experience.

____ Pay Stubs & W-2 – All employee payroll stubs and payroll documents are created electronically through IOI Employee Pay Self Service.
