General Messages

District Court of Honor

Cecil District will hold a Court of Honor and Adult Leader Recognition at the May Roundtable on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 7PM at North East United Methodist Church.  All adult leaders are encouraged to attend. The District Award of Merit will be presented.

Fellowship snacks will be provided after the ceremony.
Scout Leader Training

Why are we always talking about TRAINING?

  1. Because every Scout deserves a trained leader.
  2. Because it is required that youth-facing leaders are trained in the position they are serving as well as in Youth Protection.

Units are encouraged to have a Training Coordinator that track the training status of your adult leaders.  More information on training can be obtained at: www.delmarvacouncil.org/openrosters/view_homepage.aspx?orgkey=1568

2014 National Youth Leadership Training
  • Leadership is a key factor in the development of a Scout. One of the most valuable things Scouting offers a boy is the opportunity to be a leader and to develop his leadership skills. The National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) course provides an exceptional opportunity for the boy to do just that. NYLT is an intensive six day training experience for Senior Patrol Leaders, Assistant Senior Patrol leaders, Patrol leaders, Crew leaders and other youth leaders as well as prospective troop/venturing leaders.
  • Date & Location: July 27 - August 1, 2014 at Henson Scout Reservation in Rhodesdale, Maryland.
  • Eligibility: To participate in NYLT, a Scout must be at least 13 years of age or have completed seventh grade and not reached the age of 18 if a Boy Scout or 21 if a Venturing Scout. A Boy Scout must hold at least the rank of First Class, be currently registered in a Boy Scout Troop or Venturing Crew and have the approval of his Scoutmaster/Coach.
